Fred Millán
Ph.D., ABPP, NCC
Dr. Fred Millán is a bilingual Latinx Counseling Psychologist, licensed in New York State and board certified in psychoanalysis by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is the director of the Graduate Mental Health Counseling Program, Interim Chair of Psychology and Professor of Psychology at SUNY Old Westbury. He maintains a part time private practice in Spanish and English and provides clinical supervision to psychology doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and psychiatric residents. He received his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College/ Columbia University. Dr. Millán currently serves as Trustee of the American Insurance Trust, member of the New York State Board for Licensure/Discipline and EPPP-I Domain 8 (Ethical/Legal/Professional Issues) Chair of the ASPPB Item Development Committee. He is a former president of the Association of State & Provincial Psychology Boards, former president of the National Latinx Psychological Association, former chair of the American Psychological Association Ethics Committee, former chair of the New York State Board for Psychology and former co-chair of the APA/ASPPB/Trust Joint Task Force on Telepsychology. He is the co-editor of A Telepsychology Casebook: Using Technology Ethically and Effectively in Your Professional Practice (2017). He has presented and published on diversity issues in psychotherapy and clinical supervision; telepsychology; and ethics.
