Eric A. Harris, Ed.D., J.D., is a licensed psychologist and attorney in Massachusetts. Dr. Harris received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his Ed.D. in Clinical Psychology and Public Practice from the Harvard University School of Education. He was the initiator of the Trust risk management program in 1994 and has provided risk management services to Trust Insured since then.
He served for many years on the APA Committee for the Advancement of Professional Practice (CAPP) and served two terms on the APA Committee on Legal Issues (COLI). Dr. Harris served the Massachusetts Psychological Association as the Director of Professional Affairs for ten years and also served as legal counsel.
He has served on many APA committees and projects, the most recent, being the APA/ASPPB/Trust Joint Task Force on the Development of Telepsychology Guidelines for Psychologists. Dr. Harris previously served as a faculty member at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology and conducted a part time private clinical practice for more than 15 years.
Dr. Harris has written, consulted and lectured extensively on risk management, legal issues, managed care and coaching. He has represented psychologists before both ethics committees and state licensing boards and has been a consultant to both plaintiffs and defendants in mental health malpractice actions.
