Dr. Martinez is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Georgia. He completed an internship accredited by the American Psychological Association at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, concentrated on forensic psychology, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta. In 2011, he became board certified in forensic psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.
In 2012, Dr. Martinez founded Clinical and Forensic Psychology Services, a private specializing in psychological evaluations of juveniles and adults. Before establishing his practice, he served as lead forensic psychologist for a 48-bed secured forensic unit at a state psychiatric hospital and worked as an independent examiner for New York State’s Bureau of Sex Offender Evaluation and Treatment.
Dr. Martinez provides consultation and forensic evaluation services for legal, educational, and governmental organizations at both state and federal levels. While his current practice is dedicated exclusively to psychological evaluations, he has prior experience providing individual and group psychotherapy to juveniles and adults. Additionally, he has published in peer-reviewed journals and remains actively involved in providing trainings on various mental health topics.
Throughout his career, he has held multiple national leadership roles, including President and Treasurer of the American Board of Forensic Psychology, Chair and Vice Chair of the American Board of Professional Psychology’s Ethics Committee, Vice President of the Association for Scientific Advancement in Psychological Injury and Law, Chair of the Forensics Committee for American Psychological Association's Division 42 (Psychologists in Independent Practice), and Chair of American Psychological Association's Committee on Professional Practice and Standards.
